Farm Opportunities June 2023

We have some fresh farm opportunities for aspiring farmers. We’ve been talking to the outgoing owners of these farms, and all have great support backups for those who are keen to get started. If you have ever thought about moving onto land, this could be the right opportunity for you.

If you are an aspiring farmer and interested in knowing more, please get in touch with Amy for a fact sheet.

110ha Mixed Regenerative Farm near Lismore NSW

Lismore Farm Drone

The current owners of this property are eager to help a farmer onto the land. They are looking for suitable, keen individuals to join them in regenerating the land through high rotation grazing, and adopt regenerative farming principles.

The property consists of 6 paddocks, with good water and infrastructure. The owners may also be able to help set up accommodation on the property if required.

The current owners are also experienced and passionate about regenerative agriculture and happy to help the farmer tap into more higher end markets should they wish to build their own brand and market direct to customer.

Orcharding in Harcourt Victoria

Our friends at Grow Great Fruit are looking for an enthusiastic person (or people) who are well placed for an on-farm learning adventure to take over the lease on a beautiful certified organic orchard in Harcourt, Victoria. The well-established mixed orchard is about 4 ha and includes cherries, apricots, plums, apples, and pears.

It’s a great opportunity for you to consolidate or learn a wide range of fruit-growing skills.

The ideal person or people will have a strong interest in organic fruit growing. They’ll have at least some farming experience and knowledge of organic farming, and farming will be their chosen career. It’s a big job for one person, so would be ideal for a couple or partnership.

As a lessee on the farm, you’ll also become a member of the Harcourt Organic Farming Co-op (HOFC), which was set up a few years ago to make the farm more productive and profitable, and to speed up regenerating the land.

Please get in touch with Katie and Hugh directly for this opportunity by visiting their website.

Egg Farm Setup

The owners of a well-established free range egg farm are retiring so they can live their best life travelling and spending time with family. They are sad to part with the business that has been part of their lives for nearly a decade, saying “I have learnt so much, the chooks and dogs are wonderful to work with they are always pleased to see me!”

12 Good Eggs has equipment for 4,500 hens, and supply chains that have been established over 9 years to include stockists in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as Echuca, Swan Hill, Deniliquin, and Bendigo.

The owners are looking to sell the equipment, but not the land or stock. They are open to negotiation for other parts of the business as well. 12 Good Eggs currently operates out of Moulemain in NSW.

If you have access to between 12 – 30 hectares, this could be a great opportunity to bring a profitable business to the land. There is minimal time commitment, about 3 hours each day for egg collection, and another 3 – 4 hours each week for feeding and filling water tanks. Once a week 3 people work together for 5 hours in the factory area.
