What have you been doing to get farm ready?

I have been working on my parent's mixed farming property (sheep and cropping) all of my life and I am half-way through a dual Agriculture and Business degree at the University of New England (UNE) in Armidale with another 2 years to go.

Why are you passionate about farming?

Producing food and fibre for the world around us is important to progress and without the dutiful work that farmers do this would not be possible. I am passionate about the future of sheep, cattle, and cropping and using farming methods that will have the greatest return on the animal or crop whilst also maintaining a sustainable outcome. The new decade is all about showing the world how good Aussie Ag is!

Best days of being a farmer:

An ideal farm for me would be soft undulating hills covered in a green pasture with sheep grazing and then a nice flat plain with crops growing at the base of the hills. An ideal farming day would be checking prime lambs before a sale after which I would check crops for various agronomic reasons.
