What have you been doing to get farm ready?

My Husband is off a station in Cape York QLD. We had hopes and dreams to take over the station one day. But we came to the realisation that it was never going to happen. So over the last couple of months we've moved down to Clermont QLD and got jobs. We are trying to save a deposit so we can buy our own piece of land.

Why are you passionate about farming?

For my husband its what he's grown up with- what he's done his whole life. He Lives and breaths it. Loves his horses and cattle. For me i was brought up in Noosa on the sunshine coast and from right when i was a kid being on a property is all i've ever wanted to do. so when i was 17 and fresh out of school i left the sunny coast and went to work on a station in Cape York. I loved it! and from that day on i've never wanted to do anything else. We would give anything to have 'our own place.

Best days of being a farmer:

We haven't fully decided where we could like to buy a property. we know we want a good sized place. 600 acres or more (if we can afford it). We want a property in northern qld around Clermont is good. its good cattle county around here. Clermont doesn't get a lot of rain but its some of the best cattle country. We would love to breed horses and cattle.
