What have you been doing to get farm ready?

I have been building up a cash and equity base by building up my stock numbers on a couple and very small lease blocks while researching ways to increase productivity and efficiency's allowing me to run more stock on small blocks while increasing my farm assets ie. machinery, seeders and livestock handling equipment.

Why are you passionate about farming?

Farming is everything to me, growing up on the farm was the most amazing childhood i wish everyone could experience it. Being able to provide that for my children is something i would move heaven and earth to achieve.

Best days of being a farmer:

Living on the Fleurieu Peninsula is the perfect location for me to try and achieve my goal of becoming a full time farmer. It has good rainfall good quality ground water in some locations, making it a great location to produce prime Beef and Lamb. With close access to markets and local slaughter houses there is no better location than the Fleurieu Peninsula to chase my dream and the life i want for my family. My current employment as a stock agent allows me to closely follow and know market trends, while building close relationships with local industry people. This also allows me great access to local farmers and the ability to view and know their operations. Thus giving me the great position of knowing what does and does not work in the local area, when it comes to raising beef and/or lamb.
