What have you been doing to get farm ready?

I am currently the Livestock Overseer for a large Corporate farm in Tasmania. I have worked in agriculture for most of my life and see it as very rewarding career to pursue.

Why are you passionate about farming?

I am aspring to be a Regenerative farmer. But what does that mean? To me, (and in short) it is someone who recognises the natural systems of the land they work on and engineers their farming model to rebuild and compliment the systems while running a profitable business and having a positive contribution to the local community by growing nutrient dense food. I am passionate about the connection you can develop over time with the land you work on and the animals you work along side. Whether it be the stock we work with , the chickens in the backyard or our working dogs or even the worms in the compost I am constantly in awe of their contribution to the ecology of the land.

Best days of being a farmer:
